Reflective sensors operate on the principle of reflecting the light beam from the surface of the object. They include a light beam transmitter and a receiver arranged side by side in a single housing. Among this type of sensors are also sensors with background and foreground suppression.
Reflective sensors include a transmitter and receiver placed in a common housing that faces the reflective element from which the beam of light transmitted by the transmitter is reflected.
